About the Charity
UK based charity, set up and operated by families with lived experience of the loss, harm and trauma caused by undetected Vasa Praevia.
Families working together TO PREVENT THE SAME HARM HAPPENING TO OTHERS.
Our Objectives
- to raise awareness about Vasa Praevia – the condition, its prevalence, consequences, risk factors, warning signs, means of timely detection and diagnosis, and safe management.
- to empower parents to make informed decisions about screening and care, and ensure access, for all, to the latest research.
- to advocate, and campaign for, a National Screening programme for Vasa Praevia in the UK; as could be incorporated into the routine mid-trimester antenatal anatomy scan, and would prevent ongoing and entirely avoidable stillbirth, neonatal death. brain injury and trauma.
As a charity we are always looking for people to help build awareness about Vasa Praevia. If you are interested in working with us, or interested in organising some fundraising events for Vasa Praevia Raising Awareness, we would be delighted to hear from you. The charity unites families, and together we seek to prevent ongoing harm.
